Brian Orr Mooting Competition

In week 11 the Brian Orr Mooting Competition will commence. Already the LSA has seen great registration and places are filling up quickly. There are a few places left so if you havent signed up but would like to compete then head to the LSA Office on Level 2 of the Legal Skills Building, Skills Room 6 and you can sign up there. For those of you that have signed up, here are a few documents that you need for the competition:

In addition, this Wednesday the 24th of March, Joel Butler, the Director of Mooting, will be presenting a lecture to help students prepare for the competiiton. It will be held in Lecture Theatre 3 of the University Centre at 1PM. This lecture will be a valuable preparation tool to all competitors.

QLS Careers Fair

Considering your career options? Want to know more about employment opportunities in the Legal Profession? 

 

The Queensland Law Society proudly exhibits what the legal industry has to offer students, graduates and firms by hosting the Legal Careers Expo.

On Thursday 18 March 2010, from 2pm - 5pm, join us at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre for an insightful look into the legal industry. The QLS Legal Careers Expo will showcase a range of education, training, career and recruitment opportunities.

 

This annual industry event aims to connect graduating students, career-minded individuals and legal support staff with commercial and government organisations, universities and recruitment agencies.

 

Law students from across south-east Queensland are given the opportunity to visit up to 50 display stations, where they can meet with prospective employers and legal industry representatives face-to-face.

 

The expo will also feature a series of engaging workshops throughout the afternoon, with leading industry representatives who will provide thought leadership and advice on the dynamic legal industry. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign up for a free student membership and enter to win prizes.
